When Milkshake Media decided they wanted to "shake it up" a bit during the 2003 SXSW Interactive Conference, Austin's funkiest creative agency called on Word Of Mouth Catering to provide food and fun. The theme of the party was FUZZY, so tactile treats were in order. Rebecca Wallace, Event Planner for Word Of Mouth Catering, had to get creative and figure out how to turn the FUZZY concept into an interactive fun feast. And she did exactly that. Guests signed in using a special feather topped pen and Milkshake staff wore fuzzy fabric nametags. FUZZY party snacks included a cotton candy machine spinning cotton candy cones and kiwi tartlets nestled on a bed of fuzzy kiwi fruits. Pink coconut snowballs and chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons added more fuzz to the festive fare. A party is not a party without a great conversation area, and Rebecca enticed revelers to mingle around her colorful, eclectic "Spread Bar" featuring herbed boursin, beet hummus, smashed pea spread and roasted tomato confit surrounded by crostini toasts and pita points - an array of textures to tempt the palate. Trendy Bar Snacks were also part of the mix and included wasabi peas, sesame-rice cracker snack mix and cashews. Partygoers had loads of fuzzy fun playing the Fuzzy Red Buddha Ring Toss and brandishing fuzzy outfits and accessories like furry bunny ears and bee antennae. Milkshake Media's pronouncement: "Word Of Mouth Catering made us all the buzz with their memorable take on fuzz."
